What Can I Do About Negative Energy

What Can I Do About Negative Energy?

Without question, there is plenty of information on the internet addressing how to protect yourself from negative energy.  All you have to do is a quick ‘Google search.’  However, have you considered what YOU may be doing to cause negative, lower vibrations in your world?

Becoming aware of how you interact within your world and perhaps making some changes can have enormous power to change the energy of your daily life. Perhaps observe your daily life and give some consideration to some of the following and how your life may be impacted by your own self (that’s right – it’s not everyone else’s fault you feel this way!).

  1. Take ownership

“When you think everything is someone else’s fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy.”

– His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

(I can’t add to that)

  1. Challenge negative thoughts

This one takes practice, dedication, and a conscious effort. A great majority of your negative thoughts directed at yourself are not true. You’ll have to catch yourself anytime you’re acting or speaking out negatively, and immediately challenge the validly of these thoughts.

  1. Realize you have control over your situation

The only entity you have full control over is yourself. Accept this and realize the future is not cast in stone nor predictable beyond an educated guess. Once you live that belief you have more control over your conditions. When you say ‘yes’ to doing things when you really don’t want to do, your energy drops to a lower vibration. So, for the next family gathering, don’t agree to bake those desserts unless you really want to (or just stop at a bakery…but only if you really want to!).

  1. Be Realistic

We all feel negative sometimes. Yet, the key to raising your vibration is to not accept this as a ‘truth’ of your reality. Oftentimes we know that at some level we need space or maybe something isn’t quite right and it’s causing us a down day or two, so to speak. Ride the wave. Soon enough it will pass.

  1. Gratitude is positive

If you are grateful for everything just the way it is, which includes some of the more difficult times in your life, you invite positive energy into your life. Believing things happen TO you and not FOR you creates a place of negativity. Do you feel bad or blame others when good things happen? It takes courage to accept each day as it is. You may not always get what you want however you can still have gratitude and enjoy your life.
